Bucket Truck
Bucket trucks are a great tool because of their ability to reach high places that ladders can not. Many are used in situations that could be reached with a ladder but a bucket is safer and easier to use than ladders or scaffolding.
Bucket trucks come in many different styles and sizes from the little tow behind model to the the huge 3 axle truck models, some have outriggers to keep them stable and others do not. Some are powered by the truck engine and others have a auxiliary engine to power them. So no matter what you need to work on whether trimming a tree or working on a big building or light pole there is one to fit your needs.
As with any tool or equipment, you have to keep safety in mind when operating this equipment. It is best to have some formal training on a bucket truck before you try to operate one. Their are many potential hazards to keep in mid when operating a bucket, such as roll over hazards that can occur if set up on ground that is not level, picking up objects that exceed the maximum weight limit, trying to pull on something while in the bucket could cause you to fall out of the bucket.
Pulling, climbing or setting on the side of the bucket is a good way to fall out of the bucket. Doing things like this may seem safe or you may have done them many times but if something happens to cause the bucket to move like a wind gust or a hydraulic jerk you could easily fall out. If high places are your thing in life then a bucket truck is the greatest tool you could have.
